  1. Allie Simms-Hubbard Says:

Chapter 7 has been the easiest chapter to me in this class. Mr. Kutcher made it to where i could understand it. We learned about ratios, raticles, the square roots of number, the geometric mean of numbers and the side therom. I belive i have done fairly well in this chapter.

Chapter7.1 we learned about ratios. A ratio is a relationship between two numbers of the same kind. We also learned about proportions in this section. An example of a ratio is 3:1.

7.2 we learned about the the square roots of number and how to put them in a ratio kind of thing. This chapter was the best to me. I really understood it.

The last seections we did were many diffrent things. from the geometric mean, and the side side therom. This sections where kind of hard but i could understand it.

  2. Andrew Day Says:

We started ch 7 with ratios and proportions. A ratio is a comparison of two quantities. a proportion is that two ratios are equal. we cross multiplied the ratios to solve the proportion.
The next section we learned about similar polygons. we got the similarity ratio of the lengths to the corresponding sides. Golden rectangles also came up and are rectangles that can be divided into a square and a rectangle. the golden ratio is 1.618 and you use it to find the length.
Section 3 we proved triangles similar with the squigel. AA similarity postulate says the trianngles are similar and proportional. I know when to use it if the triangle has no given sides. If there is sides given SAS similarity and SSS similarity will be used.
The last two sections involved radicals. we learned the geometric mean and proportions in triangles. the Side-Splitter theorem is cool because it sounds like a wrestling move. Joe Wehner helped with these sections becuase he said “When in doubt pythagit out”

  3. Cassie sanders Says:

We did ratios and proportion. Ratios are the simpliest thing we did in this chapter. Proportion are not that hard. On proportion all you do is set up two ratios and cross muliply.

we learn about similar polygons. which is a big Ratios. You put it in a Ratio then you cross mutiply two find x. if you need to.

then we proved truangle are similar. You can use the aa~. it is hard. you can use the SAS and SSS.

The test is on thruday. I am going to Fail. Its going to be ok. It is hard.

  4. Miranda Martin Says:

Ratios were pretty simple i kind of enjoyed it. It reminded me of algebra and i like it. Geometry has so much to it, with algebra its simple. A ratio is a comparission of two quanties and allows you two see if things are alike.

The amazing quadratic formula, last year when we learned it i epically bombed it. But this year I figured it out. I understand it all better. i do better when i write out everything and see it.

We are back with triangles, finding the altitude is pretty simple and pluging in the numbers get the answers easily. Cross multiples is one of my favortie things. shocking no matter how bad I am at math i really understand it.

Raticals… I love my cracked screen calculater. With my handy dandy calculater i can check my answers. I have to do the factor tree to break down my numbers. I know it might be longer but it works for me….

  5. HaRlAn Says:

the chapter was relitivly brutal, not a great chapter but not too bad. proportions were pretty easy after i understood them, i still hate them. i could rant about how bad they are but id fail this blog.

i dont like the formula that shows you the ratios or what ever it shows cuz its confusing on how to set up. as well as the formula with the square root thing, it was not brutal at all.

i did like the fact that it was more algebra centered i desrtoy algebra, geometry jacks me up. the assinments were not too bad but i dont think he should have given one today. not on track gonna focus now. the chapter over all wasnt too bad, i hated it but just cuz its math. i have a grasp (kinda) on the formulas and things i need to know this last secion was brutal, verry easy to understand

  6. Cheyanne Daniels Says:

Ratios and Proprtions this was easy because it was just review. SImilar Polygons were easy too because I understand it. My favorite thing was the golden rectangle! These two sections were like review.

Proving Triangles Similar this section was a little harder. It had AA~, SAS~, and SSS~ this was like review. Similarirty in Right Triangles. Geometric mean this was difficult because the last four problems.

Proportions in Triangles was easy. The Side- Splitter Theorem is easy because well you just split the sides self exlanable. The only section that was hard was the right traingles. When in doubt Pathag-it-out. :)

I think I’ll do fine on the test. Just remember a^2+b^2=c^2. Everything into radical form! Well good luck everyone on the test. :)

  7. Breanna Hill Says:

In this chapter we talked about ratios and proportions. A ratio is a comparison between two numbers. Like 8/24 is1/3. That was mainly just reducing fractions.
A proportion is 2 ratios that are equal. You can also make that into an extended proportion. To solve the proportion you just cross multiple. We also found out what a similar polygon is. In a similar polygon, 3 angles have to be congruent. And the corresponding sides are congruent.
Then there is the golden ratio and the golden rectangle. Figuring those out was sort of hard. We also proved that triangles are similar. We also had to prove right triangles are similar. You also have to put proportions from triangles.
Overall this chapter was fairly easy. I think that the hardest part of this chapter was the proportions in triangles. I think I will do good on the test. This was one of the easier chapters.

  8. Macy Gillum Says:

You know what I liked best about this chapter; NO PROOFS! Woohoo! :D happy happy happy. :) Section 1 was on ratios and proportions. A ratio is a comparison of two quantities. A proportion is a statement that two ratios are equal. To solve a ratio you cross multiply. Which is really easy and we used throughout the entire chapter. Section 2 is over similar polygons. This section you had to figure out if two triangles are similar. If they were then you needed to set a ratio then find its proportion. This section was a little harder than I thought it to be.
Section 3 was over proving triangles similar. I know this sounds like section 2, but this time you had to give a reason, or a theorem, of why they are similar. It really simple acually. Section 4 is over similarity in right triangles. This revolved around finding the length of the altitude. This is fairly simple too, unless you haved to compare two triangles that are like upside down or something..
Section 5 is over proportions in triangles. This involves looking at a line that is similar to a mid-segment. But really its not. It’s really just a random horizontal line going through a triangle. Don’t ask me why someone put a random like there, but I guess thats just geomoetry. I guess you can compare it to like city streets or something.. anyway this section is about finding the different lengths of random lines. :) easy.
This chapter over all way one of the easier chapters we have done. Compared to having proofs this is waaaaay better :) (YAY! No proofs!) But yet again a test comes, I think I’ll do good on this one. Hoping for a A *fingers crossed*. Anyway I see you tomarrow Mr. K! Night! :D

  9. Maddie Mulanax Says:

in chapter 7 we have learned about ratios and proportions. They were mostly review. A ration is a comparison between two numbers. And we did a lot of cross multiply. Which wasn’t hard at all.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t do because I new how to do everything. We did all cross multiply just in different forms. In the end you would have to cross multiply to get the answer.

We learned AA~. It was kinda hard to learn about. I didn’t really get it at first but then Darria helped me so I kinda got it now. We also learned SAS~. I still don’t really get that one.

The funnest thing out of the chapter when we did the side splitter theorem. It was supper easy and all you need is a calculator. I didn’t really like the right angles. They were pretty hard im still not sure if I got the hang of it yet.

Over all I didn’t really have a problem with this chapter. There were some easy things and some hard ones. I really liked doing the side splitter theorem. Everyone knows how to do it also so its just not me. Well I got to go work on all my homework. So later!

  10. jacob gentry Says:

Hey mr.kutchser. i was just gonna do my blog and talk about how hard this chapter was. but i do like the new test thing we do. but yeah i thought this chapter was pretty hard. i did pretty good but i think i struggled with some of the triangle stuff.
the things i thought were easy was the geometric mean. and ratios and other stuff like that. i just didnt like finding altitude. i also did like solving for X.
i think that i will do pretty good on the test. just as long as theres not very much of the stuff i dont like. but i think that i will make it through. because ive done good on most of my quizes.

  11. Amanda Borcherding Says:

Well chapter seven was pretty colorful. We learned a symbol which was the squiggle (~). Pretty cool i think. Chapter seven was about similarity.

Section one was kind of easy stuff. Ratios and proportions and whatnot. After we did that we had to over the quadratic formula. I seriously do not know were the heck that stuff came from. Even though i know how to do i still hope its not my downfall on the test because it kind of scares me.

Section two was called “Similar Polygon.” That dealt with how polygon can be similar by the proportion of their sides and their angle measure. We also learned this thing called the golden rectangle. I don’t quite get what its about but i don’t it should give me any problems on the test.

Section three was on, our favorites, the triangles. We just had to show how triangles were similar by sides and angles.
Then we had to do another algebra review on radicals. That i though was actually fun.

Then we talked about right triangles in section four and did something with altitudes and proportion and other mumbo jumbo. Section five was pretty easy. Well i hope i do good on the test, Seeya next chapter guys!

  12. Makayla Crow Says:

This chapter was a little harder than usuall for me. I didnt help that I missed a few days of school during this chapter. We learned alot about ratios and proportions. They were halfway easy to me.

We also learned more about altitiudes and hypotneus. And how to find the measurements in a triangle. Like a side or the altituede. That was alittle harder to me.

We also learned about a golden rectangle. The ratio of a golden rectangle is 1.618 over 1. In this chapter we did alot of cross multiplying and reviewing the pathgrioum theorm. We also learned about the AA~, ASA SS~ ex.

Over all we learned alot of different things. Alot to do with triangles and proportions. This chapter was one of the hardest we have had so far. But I think that I will still do okay on the test.

  13. D.j. Redmon Says:

Uh well its time to do the blog… well hey Mr. Kutscher how you doing… okay well to start off this chapter was kinda hard but kinda easy, im kinda neutral about this chapter. but the first section was hard. Section one was kind of easy/hard like i said. Well it had ratios and proportions and whatnot. After we did that we had to go over the quadratic formula. I really dislike that but we had to do it. Even though i sum what know how to do it, But i really hope it does mess me up on the test.

We also learned more about altitiudes and hypotneus. And how to find the measurements in a triangle. Like a side or the altituede. That was alittle harder to me. I thought it was one of the harder sections of this chapter but it was alright.

We also learned about a golden rectangle. The ratio of a golden rectangle is 1.618 over 1. In this chapter we did alot of cross multiplying and reviewing the pathgrioum theorm. We also learned about the AA~, ASA SS~ ex.We also learned alot of different things. Alot to do with triangles and proportions. This chapter was one of the hardest we have had so far. hopefully i will do ok on the test. well overall i think this chapter was K!!

  14. Zach Nitsch Says:

Well all in all this chapter wasnt to bad. We learned how to square root a number. that was real easy, ithought so atleast. We also learned alot of other stuff that im going to talk about.
The first thing we leared about in this chapter was sqare rooting numbers. This was really easy. You take the number and find to multiples of the number and then find a pair. Seems easy enough.
THe next part of the chapter also wasnt to bad, we learned about ratios. this is the easiest part of the whole chapter. Like a car modle for example is usually 1:36 of the actual size of the car. That is really easy.
I think that i will do good on this test. i have done good on all the homewrok stuuf and the review, i think so atleast. Well thats all for now now you stay classy San Diego -Ron Burgandy. GO DAWGS!

  15. Andrea Rietcheck Says:

This chapter was pretty easy for me. Some parts were really hard for me to understand though. We learned about right triangles and golden rectangles in this chapter. We also did a lot with ratios and proportions.

We learned 3 different ways to tell if triangles are similar. They are AA~, SAS~, and SSS~. That section was pretty easy for me. It was kind of a review from last semester.

We learned about more right triangles this chapter. He showed us how to split a right triangle through the right angle with the altitude. When you do that all 3 of the triangles will be similar. We learned about the geometric mean, and we also did some pythagorum theorum in that lesson.

We learned about golden rectangles too. A golden rectangle is a rectangle that has a length to width ratio of 1.618:1.
If you split it into a square and a rectangle, the two rectangles will be similar. I think this test will be alright for me.

  16. Jason Draven Says:

we started off with ratios. such as the golden ratio. which apply s to the golden rectangle. im still confused about the golden rectangle thing. how am i supposed to apply the ratio to the rectangle.

it literally makes no sense to me. anyway,we also discussed property’s. such as the cross product property. stuff like that, ya know.

then of course theirs proportions. which is when two ratios are equal.. and the theirs extended ratios. which are the same thing. except instead of just two. there’s three or more.

all and all i think this chapter was pretty descent. and i liked it. except for the parts i didn’t. which were kind of confusing. night y’all.

  17. Nick reesor Says:

This chapter was kind of hard. It was slot harder than any chapter so far. Some of the stuff was confusing. Hopefully I hot it figured out though.

Some of the stuff we did was easy. Some of it was very hard. Proportions are really easy to figure out. Geometric mean was hard though.

Finding geometric mean of two numbers is easy. When you you have to find x in triangle using it is hard. It’s pretty confusing.

This chapter was tough. I should do alright on the test. If I can get the geometric mean figured out I’ll be fine. If not I might struggle.

  18. Taylor Cooper Says:

This chapter was all about similarity. It had alot of ratios and proportions that we had to figure out. A ratio is just a comparison of 2 quantities. Ex. 2:3,2/3, 2to3. A proportion is 2 ratios that are equal. Ex. 2/3 = 6/9.

Then, we talked about Similar Polygons. All we did was state whether the polygons were similar and how. After that we learned about the SSS~, SAS~, and the AA~ Postulates. These gave us short-cuts to finding if triangles were similar.

We also learned about the geometric mean. To find this you have to have a right triangle with a perpendicular line going through the right angle. After that you take the two sides of the hypotenuse then and square root that number. That answer is your geometric mean.

This chapter was pretty easy. The hardest thing was probably figuring out what goes on top of the proportion and what goes on the bottom. I think this test will be pretty easy and not to hard but Ill have some trouble on a few things.

  19. Lake Schultz-Pruner Says:

This chapter dealt with a lot of different things. The first thing we did was ratios and proportions. A ratio is a comparison of 2 quantities. Examples of a ratio is a map or a blueprint. A proportion is where we compare 2 ratios. We have to cross multiply when we are using proportions. We reviewed the quadratic formula also. We originally learned it last year in algebra, but we needed it for a lesson so we went over it again. Next we did similar polygons. The similar symbol is ~. A golden rectangle is a rectangle with a ratio of 1.618. The next thing was proving triangles similar. We also learned how to find the geometric mean. I struggled at times during this lesson, but I think that I will do all right on the test.

  20. riley miller Says:

this chapter was very understandable.Making it very easy.we learned about proportions.we also learned about ratios,

we also learned about extended proportions. and how to input ratios to make proportions. i really liked how easy this chapter was. alot of it was including triangles.

we learned about the golden ratio.and how it is used to make a golden rectangle. and we learned about the similarity ratio to find if the triangles a similiar.this was all easy to understand.

i really enjoyed this chapter. because it was easy to understand. i really didnt have a problem doing it. i really think ill do good on this chapter.

  21. Ashlynn Biehler Says:

We just finished going over chapter seven. It wasn’t the easiest chapter we have done but it aslso wasn’t the hardest. Some of the stuff we did was a review from algebra. It was pretty easy.

Section one started out with the algebra review. It was ratios and proportions. We learned about how they are similar. We had to cross multiply the numbers and x to find the answer.

Sections two and three dealt with similar polygons. We still cross multiplied the numbers. We found out how to prove triangles similar by SSS and SAS. Everything we dis used proportions.

One if the last things we learned about was the geometric mean. That is where you have to multiply and square root the answer. You can use it to fine the altitude of the triangle. Hopefully I do good on this test because I understand almost everything in this chapter!

  22. Jack Steckel Says:

This chapter was very hard in some sections and some sections were really easy. The ratios and geometric mean were pretty easy for me.

Geometric mean was hard when you had to find x in triangle but if it was just two numbers it was easy. Finding out if a polygons was similar to another polygon was also kind of hard at first.

The proportions, ratios ,and cross multiplying all that stuff was easy. The Simiplying radicals was easy too but that was really just a review.

All in all this chapter wasnt to bad’. I should do pretty good on the test. I might have trouble with the finding x in a triangle problems but other than that I will be okay.

  23. Brenden Dankenbring Says:

this chapter was kinda easy. you could understand it well. i liked it a lot. we did a lot of stuff.

we did ratios. was was kinda easy. then we did cross multiplying. that was also easy cause we did it before. this ws the easiest.

we also did the golden rectangle. tht was confusing. i didnt understand it to well. but i get it now. but it is still kinda hard for me.

overall this chapter was easy. i liked it alot. i hope other chapters are just like this one. so this is the end of my blog now. ready for this test.

  24. Tori Dubois Says:

Well, I was a fan of this chapter because it was very difficult. I like dealing with triangles. I didn’t really understand a lot since I missed a few days but I tried to understand everything as best I could.
In this chapter it got very confusing with the whole thing that the outside equals middle and middle line equals this. You dont want to forget the squigel line either. This chapter kept the whole idea of a proof with out doing a proof.
Continuing into the chapter we got heavier into proportions. I love those. They are easy to work with and cross multiplying is super fun.
I hope this is enough because I’m doing it on my phone and can’t tell how big it is. I hope to do very good on the test and i really need a good grade this year. Mr. Kutscher your a great teacher.

  25. Brandon Justice Says:

I’m glad i remembered to do my blog! I almost forgot about it. That and vocab! If i wouldn’t of put it off though it’d be done by now.

This chapter wasn’t bad at all. We did proportions and ratios. which weren’t all that hard. I sorta got how to do them. Ill study tonight.

We also did cross multiplying. Those were very easy i liked doing those. I wish all our homework was that easy. It’d make my life easier.

Over all this was an easy chapter. I think if i study tonight. And also tomorrow ill do just fine. Good luck.

  26. Carley Fairbanks Says:

But I think that I will still do okay on the test. i just about forgot to do the blog, i tried to do it last night but told myself that i would do it this morning.. last night it wasn’t loading for some odd reason or maybe i typed it in wrong!! I don’t know. lol. Okay, that’s all. ((:Have a good day!

  27. Mariah Mahkuk Says:

This chapter was pretty easy to me. It was pretty much just proportions. The first thing we did was the Geometric Mean. This is when you have two numbers and you put x over the first number and then the number over x and cross multiply. Ur gunna get an answer like x2=200, then you sqare root the answer.
The next thing we did was Similar Polygons. In order for them to be similar 1) all angles have to be congruent. 2) The sides have to be proportional. This confused me at first but i think i got it down now. Then we did something where like we had a triangle and we had to cross multiply. This was pretty easy.
Then we did like ratios where we were given2 numbers and we had to convert them into the same units then simplify This waqs kinda easy. Basically this whole chapter was proportions and ratios. nothing too difficult.
I think this chapter was pretty easy, I might do well on the test. Proportions to me are really easy so i should be ok. Similar polugons kinda confused me but i think i will bw ok on the test.

  28. jordan pickens Says:

in this chapter we had to do porpotions. the porportions were kinda easy and kinda hard at the same time. this whole chapter was about proportions and ratios. similar polygons were kinda dificult.
